All pictures I was having on it, as well as all connections (followers, following) are now lost. I was having an account at YouPic since 2018. I carefully selected pictures to post there. For all pictures I included detailed information about the animals, buildings or events I was posting pictures of. A lot of time spent down the drain.

YouPic account deleted, but why?

All work I posted there has been deleted without prior warning and without communicating a reason for it. For now I suggest: stay away from YouPic. They don’t respond to emails, messages trough Twitter. I’ve given it a try trough Facebook chat, but have no hope for the account to be restored. I cannot find out why my YouPic account got deleted. There simply is no reason given. When I try to logon using my Facebook-login, it creates a new account for me (with a number after my name). Somehow, their system knows I was once there so it seems..

I’m happy I am not depending on YouPic for my online portfolio since that is posted on https://erbeefoto.nl/. But it’s sad they simply destroyed an account without warning that many people seemed to enjoy – since I was having hundreds of followers and received a lot of positive feedback.

“But”, you could say, “You were using it for free, why complain?”. That’s the issue. I wasn’t using it for free. I was given a service in exchange for my time and offering them free content: my pictures. They sell adds on their site. I am one of the many providing them free content so they can sell adds and services.
